It’s a hobby that transcends male/female. Anyone can collect and enjoy even if you don’t follow sports.

Why only Retail? Are there no hobby shops in your area or do you just prefer retail?

Yes, I’m female. I avidly collected baseball and some hockey cards from 1987-94. I’ve been out of the card-collecting hobby since 1994, like a heck of a lot of my age cohort. I returned to being interested in baseball this year with a vengeance and with that came a renewed interest in cards.

I’m getting my cards at retail outlets, not hobby, so I’m basically stuck with blasters and single packs until I start braving eBay (I have enough issues with used book dealers there to not be wary of sports cards) or using a precious day off of work to haul out to the only card shop even remotely near my area–it is of course closed on my normal days off.

I’ve been lucky with the Bowman Heritage boxes in regards to inserts–or at least the presence of inserts. The other ones I was buying were the Upper Deck base set and that was more in the interest of set building and completion.

So you are a woman and a collector?

Do you ever buy anything besides blasters? How often do you get hits in them? I heard good things about U.D Masterpieces blaster boxes.
