I realized that Topps made blister-packed team sets–I’ve seen them at Target, and Wal-Mart, and at the souvenir shops at various major league stadiums–but until I read this, I didn’t realize that the team sets included cards that weren’t in the regular Topps releases.
Anyone have any idea what’s in the 2008 Brewers set?
Not buying: Much of anything. I have lots of radon in my basement, which is going to cut into my already-limited paper object buying abilities.
But, really, you probably want to know what cards I’m consciously not buying other than ridiculously overpriced hobby boxes with only 100 base cards. I’m not buying 2008 Topps Updates and Highlights. No, it’s not because of gimmicks. It’s because, as far as I know, there still is no Seth McClung card in the set. I admit to having odd player collections, all right?
What I did buy: These, which are exactly the right size to hold the various Topps mini releases from the past few years (2008 Allen & Ginter, etc.) I haven’t actually ordered from the Storables site–I bought these at the Edina store–so I can’t attest to online customer service.
