The reason I haven’t been card or paper blogging is because of those things above, and for the simple fact that I haven’t had time to even organize the few cards that I’ve bought. I’ve also been moving (the address, for those of you who have it, is the same) so that explains some of it.

I’ll be back soonish. I’ve been reading everyone’s blogs, just not commenting much.

Since I have nothing else to post, here’s someone else’s blog with a few scans of old Doctor Who trading cards.

To update my last post, I do still have a job; I just have more work than I’d like per day, with more days off. This should increase my blogging eventually.

I have been buying bits and pieces of the 2009 baseball base sets. I finally saw an Upper Deck blaster at Target tonight. I am not particularly interested in UD Series 1–the McClung card is in Series 2 ^_^–but if you’re getting one series you may as well get the other. When I opened it, I noticed that the box had eleven packs in it. What? ::reads box:: It’s supposed to only have ten.

What’s in the extra pack? Apparently an extra jersey card. If I was a bigger fan of memorabilia cards, I’d have a bigger w00t here, but I’m not. One of them is a Jason Varitek card. Mother’s Day is only in 3 months and Mom is going to love it. ^_^

I also managed to score the best Yankee Stadium Legacy card EVAR–or at least of the 2008 games. It’s the 2008 All-Star Game card. I was going to put all my YSL cards up for trade, but I’m keeping that one. After staying up to watch all 15 innings of that game, I think I deserve it.

According to this post there indeed is a Craig Counsell card in 2009 Topps! This gives me a reason to buy it!

…except for the fact that I’m waiting on some not so good news, and I think my purchases of 2009 sports cards will be limited to the one pack of ‘09 Topps I bought when I went to Target on Sunday to replenish the household facial tissue supply. More news tomorrow.

I didn’t realize that it’s been over a month since I’ve updated. Once again, if you’ve mailed me about trades, I’ll get back to you when I can. Unfortunately there are a lot of issues going on at home and with me personally that I don’t feel are appropriate for going over in a ballcard blog. I’ll be back to active blogging as soon as possible, I promise. There are a lot of things I’d like to say (and that end of year meme from Dinged Corners was one of them, and I don’t care if I end up answering it in February, I’ll do it.)

My Internet service (and telephone) have been out at home for about a week. I know, from now being able to log in to wordpress.com, people have sent me mails. However, I cannot answer them because the library is blocking the port on my webmail. (“What? This isn’t port 80?! Block! Block!) Since I can’t check it at work due to port block, I can’t answer back either when I’m back to work. I have no idea when the problem will be fixed as it’s an area outage. In any case, if you’ve sent me a mail about trades, I’ll get back to you as soon as it is possible.

There are a few packages that I’ve received, and I need to send things out and thank goodness I have the packages so I can get the return addresses off them–yes, I didn’t save addresses so they’re hanging out on the webmail. The mail I can’t get to.

For those of you who read the blog via RSS feed, there is a new section up on the site, the Trade List. These are cards I have that I can and will send out in trades.

Both this and the want list are a work in progress and should be further updated throughout this week.

Yes, I got an autograph card out of a $1.59 pack at Target. Not only that, I hadn’t intended to buy this pack in the first place but I forgot to take it out of the cart when I checked out. I bought it anyway.

The name sounded familiar. As it turns out, he was playing in the Brewers organization this year. I guess this is a card I keep, although I can’t recall if he was still with the Sounds when I actually saw them play in Iowa in July. (It may help me in my quest to find out exactly what bullpen pitchers I was photographing.)

I had to work today. I didn’t do Buy Nothing Day, though, because I had to buy lunch. 6 people + turkey sized for 3 people = no leftovers.

Also due to the surprise relatives, I only managed to get 12 cards uploaded to my postcard wall. This is only about 1/12 of the easily available postcards I need to scan. Also, I didn’t have time to scan in anything for future Cards of the Day.

Right now, I’m watching some winter ball I recorded from earlier this evening. It was not raining in the Dominican Republic when the game started. I am shocked. (At least it’s not that 22-20 Venezuelan game I recorded earlier this week.)

I received a package from White Sox Cards the other day, part of a trade we’ve been working on since March or so. It looks like it’s going to be, um, a bit lopsided, as I received a small white box full of 2007 Upper Deck (too much to list) and a few other things, like 2007 Goudey and 2007 Bowman Heritage and 2008 Allen & Ginter. It’s exactly what I needed. I’m thankful for the PO not smashing the package, too. Here’s some examples of what I was sent. ^_^

I didn’t realize that 2006 was indeed Kouzmanoff’s rookie year. It seems like he’s been around forever.

I kind of miss the Rays’ green uniforms. I don’t miss the bad play, however.

I was watching this guy pitch in winter ball last week. He’s still soooo slow. ^^;;;

I suppose he counts as a 2008 Brewer, as much as I wish he didn’t.

He uses the Cranberries’ “Zombie” as his walk-up music. Completely lolarious when you hear it the first time. Also the last time, because after the series I attended he promptly got hurt and didn’t return until the end of the season.
